Recommend to a friend? Yes "This is a really great lens, fast, optically superb and incredibly sharp, in fact the sharpest I have used. The lens is heavy but has a nice feel and balance to it and is extremely well made mechanically. There is minimal to no discernible loss in quality when used with either the TC-14E II or the TC-17E II teleconverters (that I have noticed so far) making this is an exceptional lens for sport and action and also much wildlife photography"
