The HC-V10 features a powerful 63x optical zoom lens with an Enhanced Optical 70x Zoom function that uses the effective area of the sensor to further extend their zooming power at the wide-angle setting. This allows the user to capture beautiful images of sweeping landscapes and pull in distant subjects for truly dynamic close-ups, without the image degradation that occurs with a digital zoom. POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) produces clear, blur-free images even with handheld 70x zooming.

The HC-V10 offers high definition recording and 70x dynamic zoom in a compact body. HD video can be recorded in the MP4 format, which offers broad compatibility and high compression that result in small files that are easy to share. The HC-V10 also includes the option to record in the iFrame format, which is designed to speed up video editing. With iFrame, the video in your camera is the same format you'll edit, so it's fast to import and edit with compatible video editing applications.

The HC-V10 is equipped with a high-quality optical hand-shake compensation function essential for compact, lightweight body. The POWER O.I.S. suppresses hand-shake without degrading the image quality. The user enjoys clear, blur-free images even with Enhanced Optical 70x zooming. The O.I.S. also features an Active mode to assure clear, beautiful images across the entire range from wide-angle to telephoto without any image degradation because it is an optical system.

The 31.6mm wide-angle* on the V10 Series fits more people and more of the background into the frame than conventional models. Ideal for shooting in small spaces or for capturing a subject together with the backbround. * 35mm camera equivalent.

The iA function automatically selects the most suitable shooting mode at the press of a button. The iA function consists of four functions: POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Intelligent Contrast Control.
