We are pleased to announce a 1940’s era Portraiture Workshop. Held in conjunction with Sony at a genuine period Railway Station set in the picturesque North Dorset countryside.  Improve your skills in lighting and working with models and capture stunning 1940's style images.

We are thrilled to be taking a trip back in time with Sony to the picturesque Shillingstone Railway Station to capture some wonderful, vintage style portraits. We hope to inspire you to create some beautiful images that celebrate the period fashion and atmosphere of this time.

 

We are very lucky to have the incredible Hannah Couzens, Sony Ambassador leading the event. Hannah is an award-winning professional portrait photographer, famous for shooting actors, models, authors, musicians, TV presenters and celebrities as well as corporate headshots and families. Hannah runs a successful high street photography business which she started 13 years ago aged just 22 and has twice won the FSB Young Business Person award. Hannah is an educator for the Profoto academy and is involved in many speaking engagements, sharing her passion for light shaping and portraiture.

 

Representatives from Sony will be on hand throughout the day to provide you with kit, such as the A7III, A7RIII, G-Master lenses and answer any technical questions you might have.

With this equipment and Hannah’s tuition and guidance we hope you end the day not with just some incredible images, but also having learnt some new skills in lighting, handling equipment, shooting techniques and of course, hope you have a great day out with like-minded photographers in a fabulous location.

  • A variety of shooting locations including the station house, platform, train carriage and signal box.
  • Fun, educational atmosphere.
  • Loan kit from Sony including cameras, lenses and advice.
  • Plenty of food, tea and coffee available to buy at the station café. 

 

What you need:

  • Although equipment is supplied, you will need to bring your own SD memory card. You are of course more than welcome to bring along your own equipment too.
  • A notebook and pen is recommended to record all of the great knowledge Hannah will share.
  • Decent clothing suitable for outdoor photography, Be prepared just in-case it rains!
  • Money for drinks and food in the café, although packed lunches are also welcome.

 

The event starts at 10.00am, we will have a short break for lunch around 1pm and then resume in the afternoon and work through until approx 4.00pm
