FlowerFest Photo Competition

14th June 2019 - 30th June 2019

We are running a photo competition in conjunction with Christchurch's FlowerFest19. The theme of the competition is the 'spirit of the flowerfest'.  We would like to see your photos of people enjoying the floral displays and the local attractions around Christchurch.

The FlowerFest was first held in Christchurch in 2018. Organiser Glenda Stansbury says this about how the festival came about:

'My inspiration for the inaugural event of FlowerFest18 came from a visit to the annual flower festival in Girona, Spain, Temps de Flors in 2016.

Temps de Flors has grown year on year (now in its 62nd year), and it continues to be the biggest revenue provider for Girona. The streets are lined with retailers and businesses showcasing their own creativity and ingenuity. From a small plant pot to the more elaborate window display of floral art, it is a feast for the eyes and senses.

With local participation being key to its success it has become known as a community with a floral focus. Walking the streets of Girona, it dawned on me that Christchurch would be the perfect venue for our own flower festival in Dorset'. I set about making it happen!"

For FlowerFest19 Castle Cameras will be sponsoring the event by putting up an installation on the quomps, come on down to see our creation, as well as running a photography competition.  The festival runs from 14th-16th June 2019, more details here.  We look forward to seeing you there and hope you will take the opportunity to take some photos to enter into the competition.

Entries to the photography competition can be emailed to web@castlecameras.co.uk.  Please use 'FlowerFest Photo Comp - your name'  as the subject line.  If you can include a little bit of information about the picture that would be great.  The winning prize is tickets for two to Kew Gardens.  The closing date for entries is June 30th 2019.
