"I tend to use my X-T1 with manual focus lenses. I have the Samyang 12mm and have been pleased with the images and the rendering once you took time to iron out accurate focusing techniques. I tend was intrigued with the 8mm having seen images taken with it. It is a niche lens, fun to use but you need to think about where you want to use it. I've used it so far on rocky shorelines with cliffs, rocky foreshores with plenty of foreground detail coupled with dramatic skies and had some cracking images. Due to depth of field, focus is hardly an issue. The lens feels well made with well damped focus ring and the aperture ring clicks satisfyingly well. Due to the protruding front element, screw in filters are not usable which is a pity so you have to work with that and think about composure. Make sure feet and camera straps are not in the field of view :)"
