Should I choose Canvas or FibreNyte?

Canvas is hard-wearing, FibreNyte is very hard-wearing!  Both boast the butyl rubber middle layer which makes them equally waterproof.

If you prefer your bag to age gracefully with a vintage look, choose canvas.  It is slightly softer to the touch and will mould itselft to your body over time.

FibreNyte will stay looking newer for longer, if you're going to be working your bag hard, filling it, hiking, very frequent use etc. then it would be a better option.  The black FibreNyte will stay colourfast, whereas the canvas shade will change over time.

What goes into a Billingham Bag?

Your photo gear is the last thing to go into a Billingham bag!  Billingham's are lovingly made from great quality materials - you won't find a plastic fitting on one of these beauties!

Metal fittings are made from brass so won't rust, are tough and look great!  The black bags feature nickel plated brass fittings - simply because Billingham think they look better against black!

Zips are sourced from the world's leading suppliers and their teeth are woven into the suport tape for added strength and to keep them as flat as possible.  That way they are less likely to damage the bag's fabric or any delicate equipment.

Lining material is chosen for its excellent 'anti-wicking' characteristics, which prevents moisture being absorbed.  It's also non-fray so that it doesn't shed any fibres.

Webbing throughout the bag is spun polyester - which you can find in military spec items such as parachute harnesses.  It stays flat, wears extremely well and doesn't absorb moisture.  The webbing is woven on old style looms, not as fast as modern ones but Billingham believe they produce a denser, more durable weave with greater pliability.

Rivets and Press Studs are used to secure components and for reinforcement purposes.  Billingham only use the best quality so you know they won't let you down.

Closed Cell Foams are tough and act like mini shock absorbers while at the same time, providing excellent resistance to moisture, mold and fungi.

Top Grain Leather is selected with the cut edges stained by hand and where required, embossed with the Billingham logo.
