Delivery Information

For security reasons, in most cases, we are only able to deliver to the registered cardholder's address. If you have entered a different delivery address and we are unable to accommodate this request we will contact you prior to dispatch.

Orders paid via PayPal will only be delivered to the ‘confirmed’ name and address detailed on the PayPal account.

Online orders paid via Finance will only be dispatched from our Bournemouth shop and delivered to the address authorised on the Finance agreement. In most instances, your order will be sent via courier. Please be aware you will not receive any delivery notification from the courier company and there will be no option to re-direct the package. 

On occasion, we may have to transfer stock between branches; this may result in a delay with dispatch. We will notify you if this is the case. The majority of orders, and all orders being sent by courier, are dispatched from our Bournemouth shop. If an item is only available from our other branch we will endeavour to dispatch it from there. There are size, weight and value limitations, which may result in the item being transferred to Bournemouth for dispatch.

If you change your mind after your order has been dispatched and before you receive it, you will need to accept the delivery and then return it to us, at your expense. We cannot cancel, or re-direct an order once it has left the building. 

If you refuse to accept a courier delivery or request the parcel be 'returned to sender' this will incur a non negotiable fee of £20.00.

Castle Cameras cannot be held accountable for delays in delivery caused by circumstances out of its control. Including, but not limited to, Acts of God, fire, lightning, flood, or extremely severe weather, explosion, war, disorder, industrial disputes / strike action (whether or not involving our employees), acts or omissions of internet services providers or acts of local or central Government or other competent authorities. Postal payments will not be refunded.

Courier delivery

We will send via DPD or, in some instances, Royal Mail Special Delivery – whichever we feel is the better option. 

Courier orders received by 1pm Monday – Thursday will be dispatched on the same day. This is subject to stock availability and necessary security checks. Certain postcodes (Mostly Northern Ireland, Highlands & Islands) do not have a 24 hour service. In these cases, wherever possible, we will use Royal Mail's Special Delivery service.

You will be advised how your parcel has been sent at point of dispatch.

Any dates we specify for delivery are dependant on the courier and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivery. Postal fees will not be refunded.

If you require Saturday delivery, please phone to confirm that it is possible and discuss the extra cost.

1st Class Delivery

From £4

Orders placed for 1st class delivery will be sent through Royal Mail, using 1st class or 1st class signed for (depending on value). 

Delivery with this method is generally 1-3 working days. Time frames are given as a guide and are not guaranteed. We shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivery. 

FREE Delivery on most products over £50

This is available on most orders over £50 & to most mainland UK addresses. This does not include purchases of batteries and may not be available on parcels weighing in excess of 2 kg. This service can take up to 5 working days.

If you need expedited delivery please select 1st Class or Courier options at checkout.

We use DPD and Royal Mail.

How quickly will you receive your order?

We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times stated, but orders are subject to stock availability and delays in delivery times are sometimes outside our control.

If you require a next day delivery, there is a cut-off point of 1pm Monday – Thursday. Orders placed after this may be dispatched on the following working day.

Working days are classed as Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Any dates we specify for delivery are approximate and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivery. Postal fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.

If you require Saturday delivery, please phone to confirm it's possible and discuss the extra cost.

Budget deliveries: Normally take between 3 and 5 working days.

What are our delivery charges?

Postage varies from item to item depending on the weight, the destination and the method of shipping. The simplest way to check the cost put your postcode in the Home Delivery Checker on the item page; this will quickly show the options available to you.

Budget shipping takes up to 5 days and is free of charge for most UK mainland orders over £50 (Highlands and Islands not included)

Courier service is available at the prices shown at checkout to most UK mainland destinations. Although we are able to courier to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands these destinations incur a greater delivery charge. Please contact us for further information.

Overnight shipping usually costs from £3.00 to £12.00. It is available to order Monday to midday Thursday. Thursday afternoon and Friday orders placed up until 1pm will be booked for Monday delivery. If you require Saturday morning delivery, please phone to confirm it's possible and discuss the extra cost.

Lithium-ion batteries: Due to transport limitations we can only dispatch these by courier. We can deliver to most of the UK mainland, excludes Islands, the Scottish Highlands and Northern Ireland.

Non Mainland UK Area - inc Scottish Higland and Islands*

Non mainland UK areas include Scottish Highlands & Islands*, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the Isles of Scilly. These addresses are not valid for the free delivery option or budget delivery and the cost of courier / 1st class post will vary from the prices shown when you checkout. We will contact you to advise of any further postage required prior to dispatch, or offer you the option to cancel your order. 

*We are guided by DPD for the areas classed as Scottish Highlands & Islands, these include the following postcodes (which are subject to change without warning): AB30-38, AB44-56, FK17-99, G83, IV1-28, IV30-32, IV33-39, IV52-54, IV63, KW1-17, PA21-33, PA34-40, PH18-26, PH30, PH31-41, PH49-50

DPD tracking information

DPD will contact you by text or email to confirm a delivery slot, which you can rearrange if required.

If you respond to DPD requesting your parcel be left in a secure location, you are liable for any loss or damage that may occur. If you are not there to receive your delivery, please follow the instructions on the card left for you or contact us for more information. 

DPD tracking service will be withheld on all finance purchases and other selected orders, at our discretion. 

If you do not receive a notification from DPD you are welcome to call 01202 526606 or email for a delivery update. Please quote the DPD tracking reference included in the dispatch email. If you fail to take delivery we will try and contact you and re-arrange the delivery, we reserve the right to charge a further delivery fee if required.

Collect in Store Option

We are committed to providing the same level of service through our website that we do in our stores. We will always offer the option to place an order online and collect it from either our Bournemouth or Salisbury shop. We will email you as soon as we have your order ready and will notify you if there is any delay in transferring the stock to your selected destination.

Please bring suitable identification with you when you come to collect. A third party cannot collect your order on your behalf unless by prior agreement.

What forms of identification you will need to bring with you, if you choose to collect in store

You will be required to present one, and in some cases two, forms of identification when you come in. A full, valid driving licence is preferred or a current passport accompanied by a recent household utility bill. All identification must relate to the person and invoice address on the order.
