Winners announced in Bournemouth Airshow photography competition

The winners of the Castle Cameras/Bournemouth Echo Bournemouth Air Festival competition have been announced, with the best photographer in the adult category netting a Sony Alpha NEX5 and the best junior photographer winning a Pentax Optio WS80.

Readers of the Echo were asked to submit their best photographs from the weekend, and faced a real challenge because of the poor weather conditions, which put paid to many of the planned displays.

That didn’t dampen the spirits of Bournemouth’s photographers, however, and plenty of excellent photographs were submitted from the four day event.

The winner in the adult category was Leslie Budzynski, from Poole, who caputered the Brietling Wingwalkers in action over stormy seas.

Leslie told the Echo: “I’m absolutely thrilled. I was on my way to visit my son who works at the pier when I just took the snap.
The Brietling Wingwalkers also proved the winning formula for Alice Tilley, age 14, winner of the junior category. The Wingwalkers pass over the seafront while a beach worker looks on.

Alice described her win as “Amazing.”
