Value for money entrance-level digital camcorder – in glorious pink!

The Sanyo Xacti CG-10

If you’re contemplating buying your first camcorder but have no idea where to start, this little pink number from Sanyo is one we’d recommend checking out.

The Sanyo Xacti CG-10 is an entrance-level digital camcorder for those new to digital recording.

Compact and lightweight (it weighs 188g) The Xacti CG-10 offers an HD movie resolution of 1,280×720 in Mpeg4 AVC/H.264 format and can also take 10Mp photos.

Among its other key features are up to 7fps sequential shooting and the alarmingly named ‘Face Chaser’, which picks out human faces in whatever you’re recording and optimises them. It’s also got a 40MB internal memory, which negates the immediate need for an SD card for short recordings.

Add to that a flashgun to illuminate your subjects and a decent noise reduction filter and you’ve got an impressive starter camcorder.

One immediate challenge you might face when taking the Sanyo Xacti CG-10 out of the box is finding the On button. This is hidden away, for reasons unclear, beneath the LCD screen. But once you’ve pressed it, all you need to do is flip the screen open and closed to turn the digital camcorder on and off.

The Xacti CG-10’s controls are durable and easy to use. They’re pretty intuitive and will be familiar to most users.

This is a good entry-level digital camcorder and is very portable due to its compact size, meaning you can easily film your travels wherever you may roam.

For a limited time you can get your hands on a pink Sanyo Xacti CG-10 for just £129, as saving of  £120.99.
