Fotospeed in-store event, Castle Cameras staff print their favourite images

We were lucky enough to have Fotospeed technical expert Tim Jones with us for a day in our Bournemouth store and several of the staff took the opportuity to print their favourite images. Read on to see what they printed and what paper they used:

Alice

I took this picture of some amazing toadstools whilst on holiday in Shropshire. The light coming through the trees looked so magical over the mushrooms/fungi, I knew it would make a great print.

I chose to print this on a matt textured paper to really accentuate the painterly quality of the image. Fotospeed's Natural Soft Texture 315 was a perfect choice, with a very gentle, smooth finish which adds a depth and dimension to landscape images.

Rob

I took this moody picture of my Corvette parked up in it's lock-up. The light coming through the skylights really make for an atmospheric image.

I chose to print this on some paper that would add some seriously dynamic punch to the highlights on the car. The perfect paper for this is Fotospeed's Platinum Baryta 300. It is a Fine Art paper with a smooth unglazed gloss surface. It's ultra white base reveals delicate highlights and smooth transitions to shadows, making it a perfect choice for this image.

Russell

Astrophotography is my passion and I took this starry image at Man o' War beach.

Like Alice, I knew a matt paper would work best for this image, but to really make the stars pop, I wanted to use one with a very bright, white surface. Fotospeed's NST Bright White 315 was the perfect choice for this. It is a 100% cotton, Fine Art paper with a very gentle texture. The paper's bright white base and gentle texture lends itself towards landscape images but is also good for portraits. It really makes the stars shine!

As you can see, Fotospeed's range of superb papers offer something for everyone. We stock the full range of papers here at Castle Cameras and also run in-store events and workshops with Fotospeed throughout the year. Are you curious to find out more about printing? Join us on the 4th February in our Salisbury store for a Fotospeed workshop where you can find out about printing techniques and discover the range of papers offered by Fotospeed.
