The TS-81 Lens socket is an optional extra for the 150-600mm F5-6.3, 60-600mm F4.5-6.3, 70-200mm F2.8 and 500mm F4 DG OS HSM Sports lenses. It is an upgrade to the mount supplied with lens and has a slightly increased distance between the lens and the tripod. There are both 1/4 inch and a 3/8 inch threads for attaching either to a quick-release plate or directly to the tripod head.
