Nikon NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S lens

Professional sports performance. Exceptional reach. Uncompromising image quality.

Built for professional sports and action photographers, the NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S combines outstanding optical performance with the versatility to capture decisive moments in demanding conditions. This professional S-Line telephoto zoom features a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture and a built-in 1.4x teleconverter, giving you exceptional flexibility without the need to change lenses.

Engage the teleconverter to extend the focal-length range from 120-300mm to 168-420mm, or reach up to 630mm equivalent framing in DX crop mode. Even with the teleconverter engaged, image quality remains comparable to that of a prime lens, delivering impressive detail, contrast and clarity across the zoom range.

Outstanding Image Quality in Challenging Light

Nikon's advanced S-Line optical construction incorporates specialised Super ED and SR glass, alongside Meso Amorphous and ARNEO coatings, to deliver high-contrast images with exceptional clarity. Whether you're photographing fast-moving athletes under stadium lighting or capturing outdoor action in bright sunlight, this lens is designed to produce detailed, professional-quality results.

The constant f/2.8 aperture lets you work with faster shutter speeds to freeze action, while creating beautifully smooth background bokeh that helps isolate your subject. With up to 6.5 stops of in-lens Vibration Reduction when using compatible Synchro VR functionality, you can also benefit from improved stability when shooting handheld.

Fast, Precise Autofocus for Critical Moments

When the action moves quickly, autofocus performance matters. Nikon's Silky Swift AF system uses voice coil motors and an advanced multi-focus system to deliver fast, silent and precise focusing. A new control algorithm is designed to keep pace with the fastest continuous shooting speeds, helping you track subjects and capture the moments that matter.

Professional Handling, Refined Design

Despite its impressive optical capabilities, the NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S weighs approximately 2,735g, making it around 515g lighter than its F-mount predecessor, even with the built-in teleconverter. Its internal zoom design maintains a consistent centre of gravity as you change focal length, providing more balanced handling during extended shoots.

Designed for demanding professional use, the lens features customisable controls, two L-Fn buttons, an Fn ring and a control ring that can also be configured for focusing. Arca-Swiss compatibility makes tripod mounting more convenient, while support for both front screw-in and rear drop-in filters offers additional creative flexibility.

High-performance sealing helps protect against dust, dirt and moisture, while a fluorine coating makes the front element easier to clean.

From pitch-side action to indoor sporting events, the NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S delivers professional versatility, exceptional reach and outstanding image quality in one powerful telephoto zoom.
