The key advantage of Open Gate is flexibility. It provides more room in post-production for reframing, stabilisation, and high-resolution delivery across multiple formats. This is especially valuable for creators delivering to both cinematic and social platforms, allowing for simultaneous 16:9, 9:16, or even square aspect ratios from a single source. In addition, utilising the full height of the sensor also benefits anamorphic shooting by capturing a larger cinematic field of view.
Register People Priority AF
Tell your camera who matters most in a scene, and register up to 100 faces, with 10 set as top priority. The camera will then automatically detect and track those faces in order, ensuring your chosen subjects remain sharp. You can register faces from images already taken or from files stored on the card and adjust priorities directly in-camera. This is ideal for busy environments like weddings, news events, or red carpets.

In a surprise move, Canon have launched a very exciting, affordable, fast f1.2 aperture general purpose prime lens for Canon RF mount.
With its natural perspective, fast f/1.2 aperture and advanced STM motor, the RF 45MM F1.2 STM is built for distinctive, impactful photography and videography. Lightweight and compact, with fast, smooth AF, plus minimal focus breathing. This lens delivers character by the bucketful with sharpness where you need it most, while 11 aperture blades provide cinematic bokeh and highlights. The lens also features seperate focus and control ring dials, a feature normally reserved for L-series lenses.
