Snap up a Canon camera from our new website and take some super web shots for yours

Castle Cameras brand new web site launches October 1st 2010.

Everyone at Castle Cameras’  got very excited working on their new web site over the last couple of weeks. It is so much better than our old one that they decided to launch it as soon as possible rather than waiting until they’d dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy using it as much as they have enjoyed preparing it and continuing to add content…so keep visiting as there are changes going on all the time.

Talking of websites nearly everybody has one these days, from professional photographers showcasing their work to Sunday morning football teams or local baking clubs showing off their talents. There has never been a better or easier time to make a website for your business, organisation or just for yourself, and one of the most important elements of a good website people want to share and keep coming back to is good images.

The good news is, if you want to create a website, for example, for your outdoor pursuits club, you don’t need to recruit a professional photographer. With a decent digital compact camera or standard DSLR you can capture the essence of your club and easily upload them to your website.

The Canon IXUS 130 is a slimline digital compact that won’t break the bank, but will get you good quality images. The IXUS range is popular with hobbyist and casual photographers and the 130 is the slimmest model to day – just 17.8mm wide.

However, the IXUS is a 14mp camera with 4x zoom. It’s available in a range of colours, including orange, pink, black and silver, and costs just £159.

If you’re looking for a more rugged piece of equipment, try the Canon Powershot D10. This tough little camera is 12.1mp and takes excellent photos. If you’ve got an active (or boisterous!) activity to photograph this is the compact for you – it’s waterproof to 10m and shockproof up to 1.22m. And, should you be photographing your skiing club, you’ll be pleased to know the D10 is also freezeproof (to -10C). Because it’s a chunky piece of kit you will also be able to operate the controls with your gloves on, because we know your fingers aren’t freezeproof!

Further features of the Powershot D10 include Smart Auto mode with Scene Detection Technology, DIGIC 4 processor. The D10 is just £229.

If you’re looking for something more advanced then the latest Canon EOS 60D designed for photographers who want to take their skills to the next level, offering high performance, a series of creative features, a vari-angle LCD screen and enhanced ergonomics. Now in stock at £1449 with a Free Canon custom bag 100EG kit with Adobe elements worth £99* For the more budget conscious the Canon EOS 550D is also available (although it’s advisable to phone first to check) at £669, the EOS 550D redefines the boundaries of Canon’s consumer DSLR range. 18mp CMOS, DIGIC 4, full HD movie, 3 inch 1mp LCD monitor.
