Shutter releases come in three varieties. The traditional mechanical cable releases, electrical cable releases and the latest infra-red and radio frequency wireless models. Some of these will double as a remote trigger for a flashgun. Hama and Hahnel produce brilliant remote releases for Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic and Sony. Probably for Leica as well.
